Why did you want to become a Governor at Westbrook School?

I wanted to become a governor at Westbrook because having had a son I realised the importance of good primary education. I wanted to do what I could to help ensure that children in Hounslow had access to this. I had worked with Westbrook before and had seen firsthand the excellent work of the Headteacher and his deputy. 

Professional Background

I am a deputy Headteacher at a local comprehensive secondary school. I have been a teacher for 20 years

What skills do you bring to the role?

Having worked in education for 20 years I feel that I have a good knowledge of teaching and learning and school improvement. I believe that I have the confidence to ask challenging conversations and can provide support by suggesting possible ways to improve practice
