Next week is going to be very hot with an extreme weather alert being issued.  The DFE have not advised schools too close and neither has Hounslow LA.  We are therefore taking the following action:

 

• Advising parents to put sunblock on their children
• Wear sun hats
• Keeping children inside, except for brief periods (no more than10mins)
• Ventilating classrooms
• Utilising cooler areas of the school
• Pulling down blinds

The school is probably a safer place to be as we have larger open spaces inside our building and can therefore ventilate the areas better than at home.  If the situation changes and the DFE change advise schools differently then we will inform parents asap.
