In Westbrook, we run 2 lunchtime 'Calm Clubs' for those children who struggle in the playground.
The format of these clubs is:-
Check-in circle time - How are you feeling?
Mindful activities such as board games, group lego building, mindful colouring
Session ends with mindful meditation to music

Some more vulnerable children have support 1 to 1 with an ELSA as directed by SENCO
Identifying Children
Currently, the SENCO agrees with the teaching staff, which children will be put forward for support.
Starting this new school year, teachers are getting to know their children so in October they can make judgements on who needs support.
Plans are in discussion about trialling the Boxall Profiling online system to ensure that we identify all children who are struggling.
We currently have 2 LSAs trained in ELSA, they are Mrs Swan and Mrs Jan.
